Today (October 23), the Roewe Jiayue 07 is officially launched. The guide price is 127,800 to 152,800 yuan, and after limited-time benefits are stacked, the actual purchase price is pushed down to 119,800 to 144,800 yuan. There are four models in total: 220 Smart Enjoy Edition, 220 LiDAR Edition, 320 LiDAR Edition, and 320 LiDAR Supreme Edition.

During the presale stage, it already accumulated more than 50,000 orders, of which more than 70% are families with children. This number shows one thing: people spending just over 100,000 yuan on a family SUV now not only want it to “run,” but also to “understand the family.” And this launch saw firm orders exceed 10,000 units in just 1 minute and 53 seconds, which further shows that this price has struck a chord with consumers.

The concept Jiayue 07 promotes is “AI-native,” not simply installing a large-model app afterward. Based on the CPP architecture, it breaks hardware such as the cabin, intelligent driving, seats, air conditioning, lighting, and refrigerator into callable “components,” with two sets of models working together: the Doubao cabin assistant is responsible for understanding people: it can remember family members’ habits—if Dad has a bad back, the massage is gentler; if the child loves asking about landmarks, it explains them in a educational way; say “my back is sweating,” and it will adjust the air conditioning, lower the windows a bit, and change the ambient lighting color on its own. The Momenta R7 world model is responsible for understanding the road: the LiDAR version comes with the XHEART X7 dedicated chip and can run highway NOA, complex urban road assistance, and automatic parking in narrow spaces.

What is interesting about this combination is this: previously the car system was “you give an instruction and it executes,” but now it is “you state how you feel, and it arranges the tasks.” For example, “take the kid out for an hour, can push a stroller, not too expensive, easy to park”—Doubao first filters destinations and routes, and then R7 turns that into specific driving behavior.

In fact, at the same price point, LiDAR plus world-model high-level assisted driving is not common. Jiayue 07 puts the R7 solution into the LiDAR version starting at 129,800 yuan and also offers a limited-time high-level function package. Looking horizontally at SUVs in the 100,000-150,000 yuan range: Song PLUS and Starship 7 win on large ownership base and mature systems; Deepal S05 wins on youthful design and a rear-drive chassis; while Jiayue 07’s differentiation is: nearly 5-meter large space + range-extender without anxiety + AI cabin + LiDAR intelligent driving, all packaged together. Of course, whether intelligent driving is good cannot be judged only from launch event videos. Urban coverage, rainy-day construction roads, and narrow roads in old residential compounds all have to wait for real owners to rack up mileage before conclusions can be drawn.

Space and the rear row are the hard currency of family cars! Jiayue 07 measures 4900×1910× with a wheelbase of 2908mm, positioned as a large five-seat range-extended SUV. Longitudinal space is 3237mm, vertical space is 1339mm, there are 41 storage locations throughout the car, and the trunk offers 834L plus 81L of underfloor space. A child’s bike, child safety seat, and camping box can be stuffed in at the same time; elderly people in the rear row can get in and out without feeling cramped, and a 1.2-meter child can stand up inside the car to change clothes. In addition, the 320 pure electric version has a combined range of 1480km, so for weekday pure electric commuting one charge lasts a week, and on holidays you can just refuel and drive long distances.

Comfort features are also piled on for “family scenarios”: a refrigerator that can make ice and heat, a rear foldable eye-protection entertainment screen, dual zero-gravity seats, a 143° rear backrest, and a 20-speaker audio system. These are not gimmicks, but real variables that keep children from fussing, make wives willing to sit in it, and prevent elders from getting carsick.

Car Market Malatang

The price is already out. How should we view the market performance? I think Jiayue 07 has a chance to tear open a gap among family SUVs priced 120,000-140,000 yuan. The logic is simple—cost-effectiveness does not rely on stacking specs, but on “full coverage of high-frequency family scenarios.” The 119,800 yuan entry version first gives you large space, long range, and the Doubao cabin; for less than 130,000 yuan you can touch LiDAR intelligent driving; for just over 140,000 yuan you can complete the set with the refrigerator, rear screen, and zero-gravity seats. It transplants the experience of a 200,000-yuan “dad car” into the budget of working-class families.

In the short term, 50,000 presale orders show that traffic and purchase intent are not lacking, and 10,000 orders moving from small deposits to firm orders also shows market recognition. Next, watch the real reputation after deliveries in November: whether intelligent driving is stable, whether the car system lags, and whether the range extender is noisy. As long as it passes these three tests, it will very likely become one of Roewe’s more noticeable volume models in recent years.

In the long term, the significance of Jiayue 07 is not just “another round of price competition,” but turning the AI cabin from a gimmick into a standard feature for family cars—in the future, cars at this price point that cannot chat a couple of lines, cannot help watch the kids and remember habits, and cannot find routes and park themselves may really be too embarrassed to call themselves smart family cars.
