On July 2, the BYD Seal 08 was officially launched, offering both plug-in hybrid and pure electric powertrains across six models. The three plug-in hybrid models are the 400km Premium, 400km Flagship, and 350km AWD Flagship; the three pure electric models are the 775km Premium, 905km Flagship, and 785km AWD Flagship.

The Seal 08 adopts the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design philosophy, featuring Ice Eye daytime running lights on the front face, ambient lighting surrounding the headlight clusters on both lower sides, and a roof-mounted lidar. The rear through-type taillight uses a gradient design with four layers of light effects, and the brand logo is embedded in the center of the light strip.

The side profile features a fastback造型, equipped with semi-hidden door handles and multi-spoke wheels, an unobstructed C-pillar structure, four-door electric suction doors, dual-layer soundproof glass throughout the vehicle, privacy glass for the rear rows, and electrically folding exterior mirrors. The vehicle measures 5150mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1505mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030mm.

The Seal 08 is equipped with the DiLink smart cockpit, featuring a built-in AI agent named "Didi Xia." It comes with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen and a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster. In addition, the new car also features a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, 50W wireless phone charging, three-zone intelligent air conditioning, 20 Devialet speakers, and multi-color interior ambient lighting.

The front seats support electric adjustment and come with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The second-row seatbacks support electric adjustment and offer heating and ventilation. The Flagship trim adds rear seatback tables, while the AWD Flagship further adds a 26-inch AR-HUD, a rear armrest screen, and a heating/cooling refrigerator, and upgrades the seat material to genuine leather.

The Seal 08 comes standard across all trims with God's Eye B, supporting highway navigation assist, urban navigation assist, APA parking assist, RPA remote parking assist, and AVP valet parking assist.

The Seal 08 chassis adopts front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, with the Premium trim equipped with the Cloud辇-C body control system, while the Flagship and AWD Flagship adopt Cloud辇-A closed dual-chamber air suspension + road preview. All trims come standard with rear-wheel steering, supporting intelligent crab-walk mode, with a minimum turning radius of 4.95 meters.

In terms of powertrain, the Seal 08 offers both pure electric and plug-in hybrid options. The pure electric version is built on an 800V high-voltage platform, offering three CLTC range versions: 775km, 785km, and 905km. The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system and a 45.36kWh battery pack, with the two-wheel-drive models offering 400km CLTC pure electric range and the four-wheel-drive models offering 350km.

Xiao Tang's view: The Seal 08 offers dual powertrain options, long range, flash charging, rear-wheel steering, and air suspension, forming its own product characteristics. The vehicle length of over 5.1 meters brings space advantages while also having a certain impact on urban parking and narrow-road U-turns; the standard rear-wheel steering across all trims alleviates this issue to some extent. The car's ultimate market performance will depend on consumers' actual acceptance of this "large size + high configuration" combination.
