On May 24, the Geely Emgrand Upward Series was officially launched, with three models introduced. It is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, with a maximum power of 88 kW (about 120 horsepower) and a peak torque of 150 N·m. The transmission system offers two choices: a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT continuously variable transmission. A new "Glory Gold" body color and a "Splendid Orange" interior have been added.

In terms of exterior, the front face of the Emgrand Upward Series adopts a shield-shaped intake grille with embedded vertical chrome trim strips, paired with narrow LED headlight clusters and a lower bumper in the "waxing crescent moon" shape; the rear adopts a full-width LED taillight; the body dimensions are 4,630 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.

In terms of interior, the Emgrand Upward Series adopts a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, is equipped with a 12.3-inch floating central control screen (the 1.5L+8CVT Comfort model has an 8-inch screen), an 8.8-inch digital instrument screen, and a yacht-style mechanical gear lever. The 1.5L+5MT Luxury model and the 1.5L+8CVT Luxury model are equipped with the Galaxy OS smart cockpit system and the ECARX E02 chip, providing applications such as Ximalaya, Aiqu Ting, and Kuwo Music.

In terms of safety, the Emgrand Upward Series adopts a high-strength cage body structure, and the front longitudinal beams feature an impact Z-shaped crumple design and dual U-shaped energy-absorbing boxes. The 1.5L+8CVT Luxury model is equipped with a 540° transparent chassis and remote control via mobile APP and other functions.

Xiao Tang's view: Since the launch of the first-generation Emgrand in 2009, the Emgrand family has gone through 16 years, with cumulative global sales exceeding 4.2 million units. This Upward Series does not deliberately chase the wave of electrification or intelligentization, but continues to polish details on a mature fuel architecture - the body proportions are more coordinated, the interior color matching is more refined, and the human-machine interaction also keeps up with current usage habits. This gradual iterative approach may not be as impactful as some new products, but for family users with limited budgets, reliability and low maintenance costs may be more practical things.
