On April 16, the IM LS8, a mid-to-large SUV under IM Motors equipped with the Stellar Super Range Extender powertrain system, was officially launched. The new vehicle is offered in a total of 4 trim levels, with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions available, and a benefit price range of 249,800 yuan to 299,800 yuan.

In terms of exterior, the IM LS8 continues the brand's family design style. The new vehicle offers five body colors: Pamir Gray, Olympus Black, Kogir Silver, Alps White, and Bled Green. In terms of dimensions, length, width, and height are 5,085 mm, 2,000 mm, and 1,807 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.

The interior adopts a wraparound cockpit design. The center console area is equipped with a 27.1-inch 5K Mini LED central control screen, a 15.6-inch 3K entertainment screen is located in front of the front passenger, and a 21.5-inch 4K roof-mounted entertainment screen is provided for the rear row. The infotainment system is equipped with the IM Ultra Agent 1.0 intelligent interaction system, integrating Alibaba's Qwen large model, and uses the Qualcomm 8295P chip in terms of hardware. The audio system is a 25-speaker B&O system with a 7.1.4-channel layout. Seating is offered in five-seat and six-seat configurations.

In terms of advanced driver assistance, the combination of a 520-line ultra-wide-field LiDAR and NVIDIA Thor chip (700TOPS), paired with the IM AD ZETA end-to-end large model, supports highway and urban Navigation Assist NOA as well as full-scenario intelligent automated parking. In terms of safety, the IM LS8 adopts a ten-longitudinal and eleven-transverse submarine cage body structure, and both batteries are claimed to meet aviation-grade safety standards. Active safety features are standard across the lineup, including full-domain digital vision blind-spot compensation, Rainy Night Mode 2.0, full-scenario AEB, Active Rollover Prevention 3.0, and Tire Burst Stability Control 2.0.

The powertrain consists of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The rear-wheel-drive version has a CLTC pure electric range of 355 kilometers and a combined range of 1,573 kilometers. The all-wheel-drive version has a combined maximum power of 390 kilowatts, a CLTC pure electric range of 430 kilometers, and a combined range of 1,605 kilometers. The vehicle supports 800V ultra-fast charging, taking 12 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The chassis is standard across the lineup with the Lizard Digital Chassis 3.0, including closed air suspension, CDC dampers, and a bidirectional 24° four-wheel steering system, keeping the turning radius of the LS8, which is over 5 meters long, at 4.85 meters.

Commentary: The IM LS8 integrates configurations such as 800V range extension, four-wheel steering, LiDAR, and the Thor chip within a price point under 300,000 yuan. The maximum combined range is 1,605 kilometers, fuel consumption at low battery is 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers, and the chassis turning radius is 4.85 meters. Advanced driver assistance supports highway and urban NOA as well as automated parking. The overall hardware specifications are relatively complete, and actual energy consumption and system stability remain to be verified by the market.
