From October 18 to 24, the 2026 Chery Global User Ecosystem Conference, themed "Eco-Tech For Our Future Life," was held at Chery Automobile's global headquarters in Wuhu. The conference brought together user representatives, ecosystem partners, industry guests, and media personnel from nearly one hundred countries and regions to engage in in-depth dialogue on intelligent mobility, green energy, and sustainable lifestyles, and to witness Chery's innovative exploration.

At this global technology event, the RELY Hi800 international version, a mid-to-high-end recreational pickup under the RELY brand, demonstrated the differentiated advantages of diesel hybrid power, intelligent four-wheel drive, and all-scenario off-road capability as the world's first mass-produced diesel plug-in hybrid pickup. After on-site test drives, media and user representatives from core markets in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America gave unanimous praise.
One vehicle, multiple scenarios: RELY Hi800 adapts globally to local conditions
Since its inception, the RELY Hi800 has been defined as a globally oriented model. For this reason, both the RELY Hi800 international version and the RELY Hi800 are equipped with a body-on-frame chassis, a 2.5T diesel plug-in hybrid system, genuine three-lock intelligent four-wheel drive, a maximum towing capacity of 3495kg, a minimum ground clearance of 247mm when unladen, and a 1560×1560×505mm cargo box.
Moreover, the 2.5T diesel hybrid dedicated engine equipped in both versions is the world's first mass-produced model of its kind. With a thermal efficiency of up to 47%, combined with the full-domain intelligent super diesel hybrid platform, it retains the advantages of low-speed high torque of diesel engines while also offering the quietness and fuel efficiency of electric drive systems, breaking the conventional perception that "hybrids are only suitable for gasoline vehicles." At the architecture level, the full-domain intelligent super diesel hybrid platform adopts a P1+P2.5 intelligent hybrid architecture: the electric motor provides timely assistance during starting and acceleration conditions, improving the low-speed response of traditional diesel pickups; the engine operates more in its high-efficiency range, allowing both power performance and economy to be achieved.

As a global model, the RELY Hi800 has also been precisely calibrated for different market needs. For markets such as Australia and New Zealand with strong heavy-load towing demands, the rear suspension of the RELY Hi800 international version uses reinforced leaf springs for enhanced load-bearing capacity, better aligning with local pickup usage habits that equally emphasize "work, off-roading, and towing"; the RELY Hi800's rear suspension adopts a multi-link independent suspension, further balancing passenger comfort while ensuring load-bearing capacity, with a combined fuel consumption of 1.54L per 100 kilometers, pure electric range of NEDC 135km and WLTC 105km—using electricity in the city to save money, and using fuel for long trips without anxiety, meeting both daily commuting and long-distance travel needs.
At the conference site, three modified vehicles based on the RELY Hi800 international version were displayed simultaneously. The co-creation version inspired by the Australian market is equipped with a winch bracket, snorkel, bull bar, and other equipment, highlighting a practical modification logic; the exploration-themed model features a black-and-white contrast with orange decals and "EXPLORE" markings, balancing refinement and presence; the travel-specific model is equipped with a complete adventure setup, purpose-built for remote-area crossings and complex off-road conditions. Together, the three vehicles demonstrated the RELY Hi800's expansion potential and modification space, responding to users' diverse needs from extreme expeditions to long-distance self-driving.

Overseas user acclaim as evidence: RELY Hi800's global vehicle strength recognized
During the conference, overseas media and dealers conducted test-drive experiences centered on the RELY Hi800 international version's product highlights, including the 2.5T diesel hybrid system, intelligent four-wheel drive, and three differential locks. From four-wheel-drive performance on gravel and muddy roads to differential-lock escape capability in complex terrain, everyone evaluated the vehicle's power, off-road capability, and practicality based on real-world usage scenarios.

A reporter from South Africa's "Core" magazine said after the test drive that what impressed him most about the RELY Hi800 international version was the diesel hybrid system, especially the fuel consumption performance and ample power. The reporter believes that as the first diesel hybrid model in the South African market, the RELY Hi800 international version can achieve a combined range of over 1,300 kilometers on a full tank and full charge, which is attractive to local farmers who frequently need long-distance travel. South African self-media personality Oratile Rampa gave high praise to the vehicle's four-wheel-drive performance, considering the overall performance to be good.

Mr. Zhang, a media professional from the Philippines, said after the test drive that the RELY Hi800 international version is equipped with front, middle, and rear differential locks, which can better distribute power in off-road conditions and help the vehicle handle complex terrain. He also specifically mentioned the vehicle's exterior and interior, believing that the RELY Hi800 international version has a rugged exterior and a luxurious interior, and the contrast between the two styles is impressive.

Zhu Haolin, an automotive content creator from Manila, Philippines, said that plug-in hybrid models are relatively popular locally, mainly because not all families have the conditions to install charging piles. For local consumers, a vehicle that can use electricity without fully relying on charging facilities is more convenient in daily use.

In addition to power and off-road performance, the RELY Hi800 international version's exterior design, body dimensions, and interior also attracted the attention of overseas media. South African media professional Justin believes that the RELY Hi800 international version has a tough exterior that fits local consumers' aesthetic preferences for pickups; the interior adopts a more refined and comfortable design, differing from traditional work-oriented pickups.

Judging from this feedback, the praise after users' test drives ultimately points to the same conclusion: the RELY Hi800 international version's hardcore product strength can withstand the test of the global market, and this is precisely the confidence behind the RELY Hi800 as a global model. From the product hard strength of "being able to work, off-road, and tow" to the passenger-vehicle experience of "easy to drive, easy to use, and smart enough," the RELY Hi800 is responding to global users' expectations for worry-free, durable, and efficient vehicles with the stance of a global vehicle. This also precisely echoes the technological focus of Chery's 2026 Global User Ecosystem Conference: letting products truly be perceived by users, and letting capabilities be verified in specific scenarios.
