The 2025 China Automobile Off-Road Rally Championship Jinta Round and the 6th Dunhuang Endurance Race kicked off on September 13. Certified by the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation, the event features a course totaling over 1,000 km and covers diverse and complex terrain including riverbeds, gobi desert, and sand dunes, posing considerable challenges to both vehicles and drivers.
Multiple models under Great Wall Motor participated in the T2 production class. The company's chairman, Mr. Wei Jianjun, personally drove the second-generation Haval H9 diesel version in the competition.
For automobile companies, the racing environment provides an opportunity to test product performance. Real-world driving under extreme conditions helps collect vehicle technical data and performance feedback.
The engine, transmission, chassis structure, and other core components of T2-class race cars remain consistent with production models, aiming to verify the performance of production vehicles through the racing environment.
The data and information obtained through the racing environment contribute to continuous optimization and upgrading of production models. This model has positive significance for the company's technological development and product improvement.
Great Wall Motor insists on full-power technology research and development, and the models participating in this event cover multiple power types. In addition, the Great Wall Hi4-G heavy truck also participated in the event as a support vehicle.
The Haval brand sent the second-generation H9 diesel version and the Menglong gasoline version. The second-generation H9 diesel version is equipped with a 2.4T+9AT powertrain, featuring intelligent four-wheel drive and mechanical locking functions. Although the Menglong gasoline version is positioned as an urban SUV, its powertrain and four-wheel-drive technology demonstrated good reliability in the racing environment.
The Tank brand sent the 300 Hi4-T and 500 Hi4-Z models. The 300 Hi4-T previously achieved good results in earlier events, and its hybrid technology and four-wheel-drive structure adapt to various terrains. The 500 Hi4-Z model adopts decoupled four-wheel-drive technology, providing stable power performance through electric motors and power-split technology.
The Poer brand sent the V6 Cannon model, which is equipped with a 3.0T V6 engine and delivers good acceleration performance. As a production model, it has been specifically strengthened in areas such as chassis, cooling, and braking.
The race drivers and navigator teams include a number of experienced professionals, with different combinations each having their own characteristics, demonstrating the diversity of event participation.
In this year's event, Great Wall Motor joined forces with multiple partners to provide technical support and service guarantees for participating clubs. From vehicle tuning to maintenance services, this helps club teams and off-road enthusiasts better participate in the event activities.
This model reflects support for the development of automotive sports culture. By providing technical experience and support systems, it lowers the threshold for event participation, allowing more enthusiasts to experience the fun of off-road racing and promoting the popularization and development of automotive sports culture.
Through participation in various racing activities, the technical characteristics of automotive products are showcased while also promoting the development of automotive culture. The participation of the company's chairman reflects a passion for and support of automotive sports. In the future, the company will continue to use the racing platform to showcase the performance characteristics of its automotive products.
From September 14 to 16, the 2025 Dunhuang Endurance Race will officially hold its competition stages, and we look forward to the performance of all participating teams.
