These past few days, new car launches have been coming thick and fast. In addition to new energy vehicles continuously building momentum, traditional fuel-powered cars are also not willing to fall behind. While striving to maintain strong power, fuel vehicles are making unremitting efforts in intelligent and user-friendly configurations. On February 13, Great Wall Motor's 2025 Haval New H5 was launched, with two diesel versions and three gasoline versions, all positioned as large SUVs with body-on-frame construction and a part-time four-wheel-drive system as standard across the lineup.

In terms of the interior, the 12.3-inch central control screen adopts Tencent TAI3.0 ecosystem vehicle system, supporting common video and vehicle connectivity functions such as iQIYI and Douyin, providing users with a richer expanded vehicle ecosystem. It also supports wake word customization and semantic understanding across multiple domains, including voice interaction for multimedia, navigation, phone, air conditioning, and more, as well as queries for weather, time and festivals, horoscopes, stocks, and more; it supports continuous dialogue for up to one minute after a single wake-up, without the need to repeatedly wake it.
The seats are based on the "Chinese Anthropometric Sample Database" and the self-developed Nice2.0 mature seat platform, designing seats that better fit Chinese people's physiological curves. The backrest and seat cushion have added 15 mm of comfort foam, making the ride more comfortable. The side wings adopt an outward-expanding comfort design, up to 66 mm, providing more comfortable support and offering passengers better wrapping. Front seat heating is added, with 93% of the seat cushion heating area and 90% of the backrest heating area.。
The second-row seats can be folded completely flat, instantly turning into a "two-meter" large bed. Together with the openable panoramic sunroof (lighting area 7842.86 cm², maximum ultraviolet reflectance up to 98.5%), it instantly becomes a mobile scenic room.
In the normal state, the trunk can simultaneously accommodate 14 suitcases of 20 inches or above (8 of 20 inches, 5 of 24 inches, 1 of 28 inches), meeting all storage needs for travel and living; when the second-row seats are folded down, the storage space expands and can accommodate 27 suitcases of 20 inches or above (15 of 20 inches, 8 of 24 inches, 4 of 28 inches). The entire vehicle has a total of 37 storage spaces designed into it, featuring exceptionally strong storage space design.
Fixed side steps are standard across the entire lineup, making it convenient for the elderly and children to get in and out.
Compared with the previous generation, the 2025 New Haval H5 adds configurations such as seat heating, exterior rearview mirror heating, an upgraded air conditioning system, an electric tailgate, and ultra-long side curtain airbags.

In terms of power, the 2025 New Haval H5 adopts a 2.0T+8AT golden combination, with a maximum net power of 160 kW and a maximum net torque of 380 N·m. Strong low-end torque makes the vehicle more powerful in starting and acceleration; the overall thermal efficiency is as high as 42.35%, while the use of a 2000 bar system pressure can improve fuel atomization, making combustion more complete, which can save more fuel and be more economical, while also reducing engine exhaust emissions.
A two-speed electronically controlled part-time four-wheel-drive system is standard across the entire lineup. Drivers can select four-wheel-drive mode according to the vehicle and road conditions, with greater traction and a better driving experience. In 4L mode, torque can be amplified by 2.48 times.
The entire vehicle uses high-rigidity materials, with the proportion of high-strength steel used in the body reaching 73.79%; at the same time, on the main force transmission channels of the body, hot-formed steel with tensile strength exceeding 1500 MPa is used, accounting for 7.1%. The 2025 New Haval H5 has dual-layer force transmission channels consisting of the frame and body. After a collision occurs, the collision force is transmitted along the front longitudinal force transmission path. The crash beam, energy-absorbing box, and frame form a ring structure, effectively collapsing and absorbing energy through the energy-absorbing box and frame. At the same time, combined with the hot-formed material door ring structure, it improves overall deformation resistance and ensures occupant safety as well as the integrity of the passenger compartment.

Looking at the entire vehicle, on the basis of the core product strengths of "body-on-frame, long, strong, and large," the 2025 New Haval H5 has advanced and upgraded in three major aspects: appearance, performance, and comfort. With its unique market competitiveness of "passenger vehicle category + commercial vehicle attributes," it occupies the position of a large all-purpose SUV, truly achieving "one car replaces three" — it is both a touring car, a commercial vehicle, and a family car, fully covering the three major scenarios of family, business, and play. In the past, high prices deterred many consumers, but the 2025 New Haval H5 successfully breaks this price barrier, with a renewal one-price starting at 127,800 yuan for a four-wheel-drive full-size SUV, genuinely benefiting consumers.
